Liquid Diet: Some Work
If you need to lose a few pounds fast, a short term liquid diet has worked for a lot of people. Honestly though, the only way to keep weight off is by reducing calories, exercising and changing your diet to healthy meals.
The Cabbage Soup Diet
This so-called liquid diet has a great success rate, and if you are looking to lose five to ten pounds quickly, this will work if you adhere to it religiously. Keep in mind that this is a seven day plan. Here is how it works.
First Day
Eat all fruit and your soup. No bananas. Eat as much fruit as you want and drink unsweetened tea, water and cranberry juice.
Day Two
Eat as many vegetables as you want, along with your soup. Green leafy are recommended. No corn, dry beans or peas. Have a baked potato for dinner with butter. No fruit today.
Day three
Mix fruit and vegetables all day along with your soup. No potato.
Day Four
Bananas and skim milk for you today. Up to eight bananas and as much skim milk as you want. You may have a less desire for sweets after today.
Day Five
Tomatos and beef today. Ten to twenty ounces of beef. You can have fish or skinless chicken instead if you desire, and up to six tomatos. Eat the soup at least once and drink six to eight glasses of water. This is supposed to wash the uric acid from the body.
Day Six
Beef it up today! As much beef as you want along with vegetables and your soup. No potato. Eat the soup at least once.
Day Seven
Eat soup at least once and stuff yourself with brown rice, unsweetened juices and vegetables. Now weigh yourself and see how much you lost. If you really stuck to this, you could be up to ten pounds thinner.
Extreme Liquid
This totally liquid diet is not recommended, but I thought I would mention it just because of how silly it is. People have reportedly lost up to twenty pounds, and I feel it is due more to starvation than this diet! Here’s what you do.
Take one quart spring water, one half cup of pure maple syrup, four lemons and one half teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Mix it all up together and store in the refrigerator. Drink this and have no food at all for ten days. Good luck if try this one!
The Grapefruit Diet
This liquid diet consists of either grapefruit juice or the fruit itself. You are encouraged to drink plenty of water and eat eggs and bacon for breakfast, along with the grapefruit. One half cup or eight ounces of fruit. It is said that a certain ingredient in grapefruit triggers fat burning. There is no scientific evidence of this. You can have basically whatever you want, along with the grapefruit. The natural reduction in calories is most likely the reason for some weight loss.
